The second step: introduce the text:

If there is a previously edited body text, such as a good text in WORD or Notepad, you can select all the text, select the "Copy" command, switch to PageMaker, select the "Paste" command, the clipboard text Copy to the middle of the page.

Of course, if there is no previously edited text, we can also enter the text directly into the publication on the page. Click the "Text" tool in the control panel to enter text on the page. If you feel that the text is inappropriate, activate the Select tool to move the text to a suitable location.

In addition, text can be imported using the placement function. Save the text to be placed as RTF file in WORD, click “File” menu in PageMaker, click “Place”, in the pop-up “Place” dialog box, select the RTF file to be placed and click “Open”. That's it. The point to note here is that there are three different text placement icons that represent different text placement methods.

1. Manual text placement icon

Manual texting is the slowest way. This icon looks like a small text. After it has placed a column of text, it stops the text. A red arrow at the bottom of the text indicates that there is text to be placed. To insert the rest of the text, click on red. Arrows, when the cursor changes to a small text icon, click the mouse where you want to place it, and you can place it again. This form of texturing is suitable for placing text in one column or page at a time or dragging it into text.

2. Automatic text placement icon

Automatic texting is the quickest way to put text into your text. The curve in the automatic text placement icon means that the text block will be concatenated together to generate a text segment. This is a quick way to generate a text segment, and it is also an automatic glyph icon function—put a complete text segment at a time. Can automatically hurdle and spread.

These two functions, we will explain in detail later in the course, here, we can know a little bit. Understand this, we can put text.

Here, we use the simplest copy-paste method to copy text from the notepad and paste it into PageMaker.

Step 3: Adjust the text:

We can use trimming to trim the text. If there are parts of the text that are not well-adjusted, for example, the “information age” in the document we are currently seeing is not well adjusted, we can cut it down and separate it into a single piece of text. The method of cutting is very simple, first activate the "T" text tool, select the text to be cut, right-click, select "Cut" in the shortcut menu, or click on the "Help" menu, select "Cut". In this way, the text is transferred to the "clipboard" (Note: PageMaker hides a clipboard while it is working). Use the text tool to click on the new location, choose Paste from the shortcut menu, and paste the text you just cut into the new location. Activate the "Select" tool and adjust the new "text block" to the appropriate position.

Step 4: Place the picture:

In PageMaker, we can also put in some pictures to enrich our publications.

Select "File" menu, click "Place", in the pop-up "Place" dialog box to select the file to be placed, here we choose "handy 1.jpg", click "OK" on it.

It should be noted here that if it is just an ordinary black-and-white printed book, when it is placed in an illustration, you can first convert the image to grayscale in graphics processing software such as Photoshop, and you can also change the brightness and contrast as needed. Black and white printouts will be clearer. Another advantage is that after turning the picture into black and white, you can reduce the size of the generated PageMaker file. This point is very important.

Finally, we can make some modifications to the entire publication. In this way, a simple publication is almost completed. How do you do it with us?
