A good paper book is a beautiful book Now that electronic media is becoming more and more developed and e-books are becoming more and more popular, how will it affect paper media? Lv Jingren: There are fewer and fewer opportunities for modern people to contact and communicate with their surrounding life and neighbors. People almost isolate themselves in a narrow world, a virtual world. In today's high-information, fast-paced social life, this reading atmosphere seems to lack something. Books have a completely different reading experience from electronic carriers, do not rely on any utensils, and can be easily read indoors and outdoors anytime, anywhere. Paper brings us a pleasant imagination stage of five senses of sight, smell, touch, hearing and taste. E-books do have their strengths and conveniences, but they can never replace paper books, because good paper books are beautiful books that make you want to hold in your arms after reading. It should be noted that as the society changes, the book concept cannot be left only on the form features that can be read, and it will continue to produce new forms. We all know that "design" was originally called "pattern", then "craftsmanship" and later "art design" and now it is called "visual communication". The change of name also means the change of connotation, and the design form changes accordingly. Let readers read it interesting and beneficial Many of your works have been shortlisted for the selection of "the most beautiful book in the world". Last year your work "Chinese Memory" was selected as "the most beautiful book in the world" in Leipzig, Germany. What do you think of the standard of "the most beautiful book"? Lu Jingren: A good book not only lies in the novelty of the design, but also in the arrangement of the book content, the materialization of the print and the overall relationship. People can read the content of the book very clearly. What is the standard for judging the most beautiful book? The first should be the perfect combination of design and text content; the second must be creative; the third, it is for people to enjoy reading. Exquisite and unique place. Of course, our works should still be able to reflect the cultural value and aesthetic value of our own nation. The book design should be interesting and useful for readers. Good design makes readers love at first sight How can a good book design make readers feel at first sight and present the personality and essence of the book in the shortest time? Lu Jingren: The designer fully conveys the context of the text to the audience through visual means, which is the most fundamental purpose of design. Designers should pay attention to the design concept of multi-form, diversified and multi-viewpoints of artistic expression on paper carriers. The publication of some concept books or the exploration of printers, or the clever use of illustrations, or even a presentation of trial and error in craftsmanship, are the unique artistic charm of paper books. We see that Korean publishers still retain the most traditional and movable type printing, rather than the lithographic printing of today's technology. These publications are favored by book lovers and collectors, and its value has been improved.
