In the actual production process of corrugated board, there will be a lot of production failures, not only to the actual production trouble, but also directly affect the quality of corrugated board production, common failures are: the collapse of the washboard, flaws, corrugated and corrugated Warpage, corrugated folds, uneven corrugation, etc., these failures are caused by many reasons. This article will mainly analyze the causes and solutions of corrugated boardboards.
The corrugated board “squeegee” phenomenon is the physical deformation of the backing paper at the peak of the paperboard. It changes the tight and flat surface of the paperboard and forms unevenness along the sides of the corrugated top. The following analysis from five aspects of the influencing factors.
1. The influence of moisture content of corrugated paper and its solution
Corrugated paperboard is composed of paper, core paper and inner paper. If the moisture content of one layer of base paper is high and low, then it will be affected by temperature, adhesive, machine tension, and quality of raw paper in the process of forming. With regard to the effects, the phenomenon of "cocooning board" appears easily. The moisture content is one of the important indexes of the base paper, and directly determines the various performance indicators of the base paper.
The problem of the paper's stretch rate depends to a large extent on the level of moisture in the paper itself. For the certified base paper, the corrugated paper must be strictly controlled at (8±2)%. Linerboard is controlled between (g±2)%. Excessive moisture content will inevitably cause the paper fibers to expand and elongate due to excessive moisture inhalation, and too low moisture content will not be conducive to the bonding and forming of the paper. This is particularly evident when using low basis weight papers. As low-volume corrugated paperboard has the advantages of low quality and low price, today it is facing the rising international pulp market, it is being widely advocated and promoted by the carton manufacturers. However, due to the low basis weight of paper and the thinness of paper, it is difficult to manufacture corrugated paperboard. The surface of the paperboard is often shaped like a “cooking board” or blisters due to improper adjustment of the production, resulting in unevenness of the paperboard and the printing effect being affected.
Solution The following methods can be used to regulate the humidity of the corrugated paper, production process and environment.
(1) Strictly control the moisture content of the in-process paper, strictly control the quality and ensure that the water content of the corrugated paper meets the production requirements.
(2) Temperature is one of the decisive factors affecting the quality of corrugated board. Reasonable temperature control should be performed during the production process of corrugated board. The temperature level can not only adjust the moisture content of the base paper, but also affect the temperature of the base paper, so that the glue can be cured in a reasonable time. The temperature control includes preheating drum temperature control, dryer temperature control, and hydrophobic device temperature control.
(3) Make reasonable adjustments to glue quality, amount of glue, and amount of water. If the glue doubles the amount of water, the glue is thin and the penetration is fast, the water content of the cardboard is high, whereas the water content is small. When the amount of glue is large, the water content of the board is large; the amount of glue is small and the water content is small. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the glue's double water ratio and the mixing time to make the glue and master the viscosity of the glue.
(4) Water repellent treatment of corrugated board. First of all, a water-resistant moisturizer emulsion is prepared. The principle of energy balance is used to penetrate the paper fiber material, and a protective film is formed on the surface of the paper. The surface tension, free surface energy, and attachment between the solid and liquid are achieved by means of a spraying system. , and then to achieve the balance of emulsion infiltration and film formation process. Finally, a corrugated cardboard having water-resistant moisturizing properties without affecting the printing was obtained.
2. Effect of adhesive quality
In the physical performance parameters of the carton, the adhesion rate is a key indicator, and its value has a great influence on the carton production and the resistance of the finished carton to pressure. The adhesives currently used are mainly scouring alkali and corn starch glue. Corn starch glue is divided into cold glue and hot glue. Corn starch can be made into adhesives with different qualities and characteristics due to different formulas. The quality and performance of paper materials and adhesives will affect the adhesive strength of the carton.
Corn starch glue has high viscosity and poor fluidity, which not only increases the amount of glue consumed, but also leads to sticky spots on the paper at the single-sided machine guide board, intermittent glue opening: lateral ejection of corn starch glue, cardboard warpage, Problems such as the lowering of the height of the "coroner" or corrugated sheet and the reduction of the side-press strength of the cardboard.
