Whether it is injection molding, extrusion or blow molding, there is usually a requirement for the dryness of plastic resins. Some plastic resins can easily absorb water from the atmosphere, such as PET resin. Therefore, before starting the plastic processing, it is usually necessary to dry the resin to achieve the prescribed moisture requirement.

In industrial production, hot air is usually used to dry the resin. The main factors affecting the drying effect are air volume, temperature and dew point.

Generally, the air is used to dry the material. In order for the material to reach the final desired moisture content, there must be enough air volume to complete the heating cycle and take away the moist air; each material has its own unique drying temperature range. In the allowable drying temperature range, set the temperature as high as possible to help improve the drying efficiency.

Hot air vented dryers are the most commonly used form of dryer. Its main characteristic is that it can maintain the resin drying temperature evenly, and thus can successfully shorten the drying time.

In addition, there is a dehumidification hot air dryer. The dry air passes through the material in the hopper, removes moisture from the material, and continues dehumidification after leaving the drying hopper, and warms up to the optimum temperature required to dry the hopper before re-entering the drying hopper.

Many Chinese companies produce dryers. In the production and technology of single-machine dehumidification equipment, the gap between products manufactured by imported or wholly foreign-owned enterprises is not large, but there are still gaps in in-line equipment such as conveyor-integrated dryers. Only a few joint ventures can produce. This integrated equipment combines the dryer and the feeder into one, which can greatly improve the convenience of product use, save energy, and fully utilize the efficiency of the molding site.
